Beyond The Rhythms
Beyond the Rhythms
Under The Northern Lights
Course overview
Join us in the stillness and magic of Finnish Lapland for a unique advanced-level workshop held on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi. Experience the magnificent the authentic home of the Santa Claus and the place where you are surrounded by pristine winter landscapes, polar night skies and the gentle dance of the Northern Lights, this retreat offers a powerful setting for deep therapeutic exploration and inner transformation.
This advanced workshop is designed and led by Thomas Rosenkilde Rasmussen, Diploma Certified Upledger therapist and teacher, Ph.D scientist and director of research for the Upledger Institute International.
Thomas will guide us in the exploration of rhythms and consciousness in a therapeutic setting. Further, he will help us in experiencing the inner bridges connecting the whole being. The Arctic environment – with its silence, purity and vastness – naturally amplifies perception, presence and the capacity to listen deeply.
Each day is structured to include meditation sessions, experiential exercises and theoretical input, followed by multi-hand treatments, allowing integration through both practice and stillness.
Course content
Rhythms and stillness have a profound relationship to human health, with implications for body, mind, and spirit. This advanced-level workshop is designed to offer participants a deeper understanding of the expression of rhythms in the human body and the relationships between rhythms, physiology, and states of consciousness. One important aspect of working with rhythms in the self-healing process is their alternation between rhythmic movement and still points or experiences of stillness during CranioSacral Therapy (CST) treatment.
The work with rhythms is twofold. First, understanding rhythms and rhythm centers makes it possible to treat these centers more precisely using CST. Second, palpating and learning to work with a polyrhythmic system – both within ourselves and within the client’s body – opens communication with the inner wisdom across a broader spectrum of rhythms and stillness. An essential dimension of rhythms is the experience of different levels of stillness. Rhythm and stillness cannot be separated; together, they create a space that supports self-healing.
With a focus on working within the Upledger paradigm, participants will become more proficient in treating rhythm centers by using different rhythms and by exploring the alternation between rhythm and stillness. This approach supports a deeper understanding and direct experience of the self-healing aspects of CST.
The course includes lectures, group discussions, body exercises, meditations, demonstrations, and hands-on practice for each concept presented.
